Our World Needs Heroes—and We’re Going to Get Them!

Wow! In head-spinning time, you’ve done it: You’ve funded Claim the Sky and First Responders!
That leaves us an entire month to fund some more cool stuff! We have loads of great ideas, and we hinted in the Kickstarter text that those ideas included some additional books. We’ll come back to that—but first:
Let’s Make First Responders Bigger
As you probably know, Claim the Sky will match our existing genre books (such as The Stars Are Fire andStay Alive!) in both its approach to its topic and its specs—it will be a hefty 224-page hardcover. First Responders is more limited in scope, though: instead of tackling an entire, broad genre, with many flavors and subgenres, First Responders is more focused on a single, more narrow vision of play. So it’s a significantly smaller book. But that doesn’t mean it can’t grow!
We just crossed the $40,000 mark. When we hit $60,000, we’ll beef up First Responders with a significant page count increase. That means more character options, gear, cyphers, and insight into the unique style of play the book offers. It also means more rules for mega-challenges, and more campaign scenarios, that you can use in a First Responders campaign—or bring into any Cypher System game!
First Responders is a reward at every single pledge level. This upgrade applies to both the PDF and the hardcover, of course, meaning that virtually every backer is going to get bigger, better rewards as a result of this stretch goal!
Moar Books!
We don’t normally announce stretch goals too far in advance, but we’re so excited about a couple of the things we have in mind that we’re breaking that trend. So, in addition to the First Responder upgrade, we’re taking the wraps off of two additional items. Two books, in fact!
Our very next stretch goal will be The Origin. What’s it about? Well, it’s hero-themed, but that’s all we’re giving away at this point. We’ll have more info on it after we unlock the First Responder upgrade.
Looking further down the road, we’re really excited by the idea of a Cypher System Bestiary. You can probably guess what that book would contain! This is a stretch goal in the truest sense of the word—we’ll have to really stretch to make it there by the end of the campaign. We’ll unlock the Cypher System Bestiary at $250,000, but don’t fret: we’ll have plenty of other stretch goals along the way.
Both of these books will be automatically added, in PDF, to all backer levels from PDF Mega Event and up, and in print to Superteam and up. (Secret Base, the retailer level, works differently and is an exception.) So if you’re thinking you’d like to be part of that action, make sure you’re backing at a level that gets you all the unlocked stretch goals!
